Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep and Wailing Caverns are your best bets for good loot at your level. They’re all 5 man instances at your level.
Deadmines has several quests avalible
Shadowfang might be a little difficult to reach at your level though.
Wailing Caverns is pretty long and easy to get lost in, so you might want to avoid it.
As for expansions you’ll need to get both Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King to level to 80
Honestly, quest rewards will almost always be enough to get you by, all the way to level 80.
If you’re really that concerned about your gear, take up tailoring. Since they revamped the professions in a recent patch, there are quite a few useful items for leveling. However, I wouldn’t recommend it-It can be quite expensive and for your first character, I’d take two gathering professions such as skinning and mining.
Another place you can find gear is on the auction house but again, depending on server it’s usually not worth it-People overprice items useful for leveling on my server’s AH because higher level people use them for alts.
About the expansions-Unless you want to make a blood elf or draenei, you don’t need the burning crusade until 58-60 when you are ready to go to outlands. You won’t need wrath of the lich king until about level 70. You do have to buy both expansions.

Most gears in the early levels aren’t worth much because they bind the moment you pick them up (unless it’s the REALLY Rare items). The early instances give decent items but I skipped it because you waste so much time in there which could have been used to level up. Go Shadowfang Keep or Wailing Caverns if your still intent on going. And you can’t just go straight into Wrath of the Lich King. You have to purchase all the previous ones first. WotLK doesn’t do anything until your high levels like 68+
ok World of Warcraft 101… The point of the game is to level to 80 and do raids and etc for good gear / stuff… when your lvl 20 your priority is to lvl not to get gear, since gear is only good for about 8 or 10 levels, you just be throwing your time away when you hit lvl 30 in 3 days..
p.s WoW is a waste of your time and life, turn back now while your not addicted
If you’re 15 or older,please move to agamaggan, we need more good players! also, you should just quest quest quest until you’re level 60, then start doing instance, try and get into a decent guild also.
