Well, if you want to make money then I suggest gathering professions. Mining is probably not your cup of tea, neither is skinning. I recommend you get herbalism, that way you can make money as well.
I don’t recommend getting a creating profession because they’re expensive. I think you should get tailoring though, because then you could make yourself armor.
So in the end I recommend herbalism for money, and tailoring for armor.

it does not matter. Mining and skinning is the best. I used to play wow made fast good money from it. With for instance skinning a leather, you loose more than you gain and it takes hours of fun away. Those 2 skills are easy and you can do it while you questing/ leveling. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And remember wows not just a game. ITS A SECOND LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD
